The Collado Family – From Vision to Hospitality in Goshen, NY
The Collado Family, based in Goshen, New York, is self-taught and hands-on when it comes to home design and construction. With a shared passion for creating welcoming spaces—and inspired by Emily’s lifelong dream of becoming an innkeeper—we began seeking out vacation rental opportunities in our hometown. With the approval of Legoland NY to be built in our hometown, in 2017 we purchased a bank-owned foreclosure property with the vision of transforming it into something special.
With the introduction of Legoland New York and a lot of elbow grease, we poured our hearts into renovating the home. Years of hard work, creativity, and hosting experience led to the launch of our bed and breakfast in the Fall of 2025. Today, we’re proud to offer guests a unique and comfortable family-friendly stay in the heart of the Hudson Valley.

Bringing It Back To Life
We started with the Carriage House / Historic Barn on the property first to see if this was going to be a good idea, gain experience in hospitality, and fund the project in the big house. Back in the day this property was called Parkway Farm and we contacted the Goshen Public Library and Historical Foundation attempting to find original photos of what the property looked like back at the end of the 19th century. With the help of our wonderful neighbors and research we were able to find a few images to help bring it back, but one item we were missing was what the original house looked liked back in the day. Many old photos of the house was blocked by trees, but through a random search on Ebay we found and purchased an original postcard dated back to 1905. We think it was taken from the Goshen Historic Track, the world’s oldest active harness racing track and is still our beautiful view of race horses practicing on a daily basis. We did some research of similar homes and visited Saratoga, NY and captured photos of details we could not see up close in the postcard and brought them to an architect in Kingston, NY. She was able to reproduce a very close match to what the old house looked like before the 1940 fire, which engulfed a huge part of this home and never fully reproduced until now.
The late Village of Goshen Mayor Michael Nuzzolese approached us when we were deciding to purchase this property and informed us about the newly made Bed & Breakfast rules that were planned and that our property was eligible. We visited the Village of Goshen Planning Board in July of 2020 and presented our dreams of opening the Villages first Owner Operated Bed & Breakfast. The board was excited about the project and we began construction. COVID-19, reduced bank workers, and the extreme rise in price of building materials really delayed the project, but when we began we were 100% involved in every aspect of the project from start to finish.
